About The Boston Zed Heads

We’re a small band of survivors, just trying to survive day to day while the world is slowly taken over by the walking dead. We speak to give hope and information to all those who can still listen.

Our survival crew is made up of the following characters:

Ian: Our resident philosopher and one of our strategic masterminds, Ian is one of our main contributors here on Boston Zed Heads. He and Brandon have been friends since they met going to college at Northeastern University, and roommates since 2006. Ian is a crack shot with pistol or rifle, almost as good with the mechanical up-keep of the base and equipment as Brandon, and also our resident chef, managing to make a damn tasty meal out of nearly anything. Before Z-Day, Ian was aiming to go to Grad school for Philosophy, and become a writer. Ian specializes in managing the day to day operations, strategizing our extended missions, and has been designated the primary scout due to his thorough knowledge of the area.

Brandon: Our technician extraordinaire and the other of our strategic masterminds, if we get an idea for it, Brandon can usually build it. His knowledge of electronics, machinery, technology, and engineering has saved our asses a few times, and made this entire project possible. He’s also our driver, being able to handle practically any vehicle we’ve had to manage, and the second best shot in our group. Before Z-Day Brandon worked as a software engineer and spend his off hours as a writer/musician/photographer. Brandon’s responsibilities include strategizing our extended missions and improving the technical capabilities of, and over all quality of life in, our home base.

Crista: Ian’s girlfriend, Crista was lucky enough to be visiting him in Boston when Z-Day occurred. Crista is an indispensable part of the team, though unfortunately no one on the team often notices what she does. Crista is sort of the glue that keeps the group together. She knows how to keep her head when some of the others lose theirs, and she’s good at adding levity when the situation gets a bit too grim. Without Crista, the group may may very well have gone insane. Never far from Ian’s side, she works primarily as a lookout, scout, and performs maintenance on as much of our equipment as she can, keeping our home base in top shape. She also frequently acts as the home guard whenever the rest of us go out in force, keeping the base secure and safe in our absence. Before Z-Day she was and English major, looking to get into acting or publishing.

Alec: Like Crista, Alec was also lucky enough to be visiting Brandon and Ian on Z-Day, though his trip here was much shorter. Alec was a mutual friend of Brandon and Ian’s from a couple of philosophy classes they had all taken together at Northeastern. Alec is an incredibly quick learner and very eager to tackle new projects, so whenever the group needs something slightly out of the ordinary done, or one of them is too busy to take care of all of their responsibilities, Alec steps in to pick up the slack. Before Z-Day Alec was a student planning to enter law school, and work as legal council to a non-profit organization. Alec’s day to day responsibilities tend to be in researching and making proof-of-concepts for any projects that have been prioritized by the group. He’s also in charge of managing our general supplies and keeping on top of what we’re running low on so we can properly strategize supply runs.

Brian: Brian is a bit of an enigma. The only member of our crew not with us from Z-Day, we found Brian fighting for his life during one of our runs to gather supplies. Brian was a friend of a friend of Brandon’s, and they had gotten along the few times they had encountered each other, but after joining the crew, Brian proved to be a strong addition to the team. Brian is the person to talk to when you need something done and you want it done right. His experiences post Z-day, while making him somewhat distant, have also strengthened his resolve, and he will let nothing stand in his way. Before Z-day, Brian worked as a bike messenger in the greater Boston area. Brian’s responsibilities are in going on extended scouting mission to find supply locations, and managing and maintaining the weapons cache we have at the base.

The other survivors we know pretty well are:

Jaco: Jaco is our third, minor contributor here at Boston Zed Heads. Brandon’s friend since childhood, Jaco managed to survive on his own down in the jungles of Philadelphia. Jaco is something of a mad genius, and, once able to get himself online, he got a hold of us. Jaco’s updates are sproadic as he keeps on the move, but whenever he finds an active connection to the internet, he tried to drop by and update us on his status. Jaco has an incredibly well rounded set of skills, including a specialty in electronics, and was an Eagle scout, which has enabled him to survive on his own. Before Z-Day Jaco was an artist and web designer, and now he’s living proof of what’s necessary for a person to survive on their own.

Molly Sanderson A member of another survival group not far from Ian and Brandon’s, the group met Molly when she was being fiercely pursued by a group of zeds. After neutralizing the threat, the group invited her in to hear her story. Since first meeting her, the two groups have started working together on things, and visiting each other to break up the monotony of day to day living post Z-Day. Molly has also proved to be an exceptionally good counter-balance to Brandon, and their seems to be something developing between them, which was an unexpected surprise in a zed infested world.
